June 19, 2011 I Got Poop, Strawberry Shortcake Festival and Summer Report Cards!

Dear Noah and Dylan,
We've had quit a weekend so far!  And today we are celebrating Fathers' Day down at Charlton Lake with Pam, Rob and the kids plus Grandpa K and Grandma!
In summary, you both delivered cake and juice to my students on Friday afternoon as a surprise retirement party, you got new toys Auntie Kim bought at a yard sale, you had hotdogs at the Methodist Church in Salisbury Square and listened to Gospel music, you took a tubby at Auntie Kim's (and the water was warm, not cold.)  You threw rocks in the Merrimack River at Moseley woods and Uncle Joe read you "But O Elephants!" before you went to sleep despite Dylan's demands for "Go, Dog, Go!"
It's been a pleasure having you here this weekend because you've both been very happy and well-behaved.  Only a couple whiney times when Noah got up from his nap on Friday and was clinging and crying to Daddy.  I made him go downstairs and cry which we all ignored while we ate our supper.  Then Noah escalated to "I got poop!" We ignored that too, until finally I decided to check dn there he was butt naked next to the toilet with a small turd in his underwear on the floor.  I helped make sure his butt was clean and gave nudey boy a big hug who returned the hug with a huge kiss!  Daddy went out to the van for clean clothes and I rinsed the poopy clothes in the sink.  Noah was also sick (again) with a cough so that didn't help his mood.  But after the, he was in great spirits and we had fun playing with the new mesh ball toss game, the Lincoln logs, the alphabet t puzzle train and the cowboys and Indians!  After lunch, both of you tok a delightful nap with me and we agreed we'd have our ice cream sandwiches after our nap.  I read a couple of the French storybooks (translating to English of course) and we were all out for two hours!  After that, we went to Moseley with Ruby jut for a little while.  Dylan was SO excited to see many boats going up and down the river.  You both waded into the water up to your knees with your sandals on.  Ruby ran around looking for squirrels and chipmunks .  then we picked up Uncle Joe, dropped off Ruby and went to the lobster/strawberry shortcake festival at the Methodist church. You were both very good there.  They had a tennis ball toss game set up and Noah played with another boy who was quite impressed with his pitching arm, while Dylan preferred to eat a bag of potato chips and listen to the Moore Family Gospel Singers.  Uncle Joe said, "I owe him."  Now, the whole weekend, mind you, your daddy has been texting back and forth to a new potential girlfriend he'll be meeting this week named Carly.  He complains about your mother being addicted to her Blackberry, yet he seems to be engaged to his cell phone suddenly!  Let's hope Carly is as interesting in person as she is in text!
On the way back from the Strawberry Shortcake Festival, Noah ate the last piece of gum and Dylan started crying, ignoring Dad's requests to stop.  I told him that if he stopped crying he would get a popsicle at the house.  That worked!  Also told him I'd buy him gum for his birthday!
