Today you are four months old!! Of course, developmentally you are right around the second month mark according to your mom. I spent a couple of hours with you on Friday with your mom since I was off for school vacation. I enjoyed seeing how she interacted with you both using your jungle mat. She put Dylan on the mat and he was flailing around, both arms and legs trying to grab a little ducky. She said it's Dylan's favorite because of the beady eyes maybe. She says she puts you both on your stomach to work on the back and neck muscles while you hold up your heads.
Yesterday was her first day back at work so I went over to help Daddy. I spent the afternoon there and then Uncle Joe came over for awhile after he did some shopping. He bought an underwater digital camera so he took some movies of you.
Your daddy told me that Dylan's cardiologist said he doesn't have to come back until he's 3. I didn't even know there was an issue until today. He was born with a hole in some part of the heart. Then Noah's head is misshapen so if he doesn't get straightened out in two months he'll have to wear a helmet! Apparently it's from sleeping on one side too much in the hospital.
It was fun afternoon with all 3 of you, and of course Freddie, Sebastian and the other cat. At one point all 3 of you were asleep! Now how many aunts are able to achieve that feat...get a dad and two infant sons to fall asleep at the same time!! That lasted for ten minutes or so until Noah woke up and then Uncle Joe showed up. Wished i could have gotten some proof of that with a camera! :-)
Your dad gave me my assignment when I arrived- he had two slips of paper in each hand and told me to pick one. I picked his left hand- it said "Take care of Noah." So I said "Show me your other hand" It said "take care of Noah." Weill it turned out that Noah was having a good day and Dylan was the fussy one so it worked out! We ordered subs for lunch and juggled the two of you while we ate.
We'll be going over on New Year's Day for a pot luck supper with your Grandpa(my dad) and Chris. Then after that I'll be coming over Saturday probably with Uncle Joe, too.
He really enjoys all this baby fun, too. It turns out your mom will only work Friday and Saturday since the daycare lady gave her spot away- Gee..you guys don't have a very good track record with women yet...dumped by your own grandmother for your Aunt Jackie and her baby, and now the day care lady! That's because they never set eyes on you to see those smiles. Noah has THE CUTEST smile with a curvy mouth that points upwards on the upper left side and Dylan's whole face just smiles. Your Aunt Kim L. is in love you both, too. She's living in S. Boston at an apartment which is only $800 a mont. She is bored with flying now and doesn't make much money so she is subbing in the Boston Public Schools. She'll have some inter sting stories to tell!

First Christmas
You had your first Christmas! Uncle Joe and I went over your house Christmas Eve and held you both for quite awhile in between trying to help your dad figure out how to cook clams and lobsters. Last year we had them pre-cooked so this was the first year trying to wing it without your grandmother overseeing the operation. Luckily there were some directions in the package ($150 later!) that sort of helped out except for the clams. It was pretty vague; one cup of water and 1 T. salt, steam for 7 minutes. It didn't say how many clams though. Your dad had about a quart of water in each pot. I think their clams were drowning before they got steamed but we finally got it right.
Your Uncle Bill and Deanna came over with a friend of theirs from Plum Island. He was going through a divorce and had nowhere to go on Christmas Eve. I gave you guys a couple of Triton bibs, bilingual pajamas from the American Library Association and sippy cups which won't be needed for quite awhile. I also gave your mom a $50 gift certificate to Hanna Anderson to buy some fancy outfits for the two of you.
I called today to see how your were doing and found out your Aunt Kim was there. I also heard you nana wouldn't let your grandfather visit yesterday. the craziness is still going on. I don't see the situation getting much better any time soon.
I got a kick out of the two phone pictures your mom sent me, one of you both asleep together on the couch Christmas morning and one of Noah with an enormous stuffed red dog, probably Clifford. It was so cute! I don't know who bought that for you- maybe it was Santa?
