Dear Noah and Dylan,
Life is moving along at a rapid pace. Your dad has been dating a woman for 3 weeks now! I'm hoping that the has finally met a new stepmother for you. I know he is a little nervous since she's pushing things along maybe faster than he wants and this time of year he is so busy at work. She has two girls, ages 3 and 6. The 3 year old turns 4 next week. Uncle Joe and I are babysitting while Daddy goes out. She is making dinner at her house and he is meeting her girls for the first time.
In the meantime, your mom has been house hunting with Adam. She put an offer on a house in Haverhill on the river but then withdrew- flood insurance too high probably. But she is dealing with some serious health issues. She was treated for cervical cancer and has lot a lot of weight. Your dad told me about the cancer but she has not shared no even with your aunts and uncles. I spilled the beans at Thanksgiving. But also she is going into Boston to see a heart specialist since she may need valve replacement surgery. That is very serious. Your dad says she always had issues with fainting. I know you are both aware that she was sick with pneumonia so bad recently she couldn't take care of you one night and your dad had to go get you guys on a day the want' scheduled. Dylan got upset during a tv show we were watching were a mother got dizzy and wanted to know why she got sick. The next day he made a comment to me about my drinking too much coffee, I might get sick and he would miss me. :! Worrying about things you shoot not have to at this age so I brought it to your mother's attention so hopefully she is more discreet about talking in front of you.
Uncle Joe and I were invited to Thanksgiving diner at your Uncle Bill's and Aunt Dee's at their apartment in Lawrence. Your adad was there and your Aunt kim. We had a great time! Your mom ha d Thanksgiving with Nick, Adam and Adam's parents. It was rather strange that we were all together with you boys and your mom was wiih them but that is the reality of divorce. I was worried your mom would be mad at us all since she has not been on speaking terms with your Aunt Kim L but she never asked any of us how was Thanksgiving so I don't even know if she knows. When you divorce, you can not expect to cut all the people connected to your spouse out of the lives of those in your life- family or friends. T many people take sides and that is absolutely unnecessary.
The Friday after Thanksgiving (Black Friday) we all drove down in daddy's van to Plymouth, to a lasagna dinner on the cliff with Auntie Kim and Uncle Don. Even the ride down was a blast! Grandpa K, Grandma K, Uncle Joe, me, Dad and the tow of you! We sang songs, told stories, did knock know joke and played a question game. I cut out of the newspaper the two hour ride flew! (Thankfully! ( At the condo, you both had a BLAST playing with Ryan in the family room downstairs plus we all went for a walk on the beach except Ryan thought the beach was "lame." And Noah held my hands on the way down the stairs and we counted each step. 146? I'm not sure.
This week you guys made your first Christmas cookies with Auntie Kim and later Auntie Susan joined us to help frost. You both worked really hard rolling the dough, spreading the flour (lots of flour)and cutting with cookie cutters. It was a lot of work and a lot of fun! We gave some to your mom when she arrived to pick you up. Dylan, you proudly handed her a package and said, "These are for you!" with the cutest smile, proud as a peacock, too! Monday of the same week, my friend Maryellen came over with her grandson, Oran and we had fun playing outside. Yes, it was warm and has been all October and November and December so far-it's been freaky! Dylan figured out how to walk along the edge of the deck by hanging onto the railing. Noah dared himself to do it later in the afternoon while I was talking to Melanie Babendreier (Daisy's mother) at the gate. Dylan was napping and suddenly I heard crying. I thought it was from the neighbor's house so I ignored it at first but the crying didn't stop. I finally cut my conversation off and went to investigate. It was Noah, frozen in fear on the deck, couldn't move forward or backward, tears streaming down his face. I lifted him up and we went on the porch and read a few stories from the backpack stuffed with books. I had told him earlier to fill it with all the books he wanted me to read to him. He cheered up fast! :-)
Another thing you both are enjoying are the recorded light-activated story "The Night Before Christmas"that Auntie Kim and Uncle Don made for you. Last year you weren't old enough to care or appreciate but now you keep reading it! And Dylan imitates the voices!

November 21, 2011 Missing Keys and Gospel Songs at Market Basket
Dear Noah and Dylan,
Well, I am now 53 and you guys helped me celebrate with a Friendly's Peanut Butter Ice-cream cake-delicious!! You came over after your cousin Patrick's baptism. Your ad said everyone had fun!
Right now I'm taking a break while you both are down for your naps. I have to separate you two because you get too silly . Actually, I could use a nap instead of writing but I'm afraid I'll forget things if I don't write them down now.
First of all, I think your mom is fine although she is worried about heart have problems. She had pneumonia and that made her very tired so thats probably w she was so upset the other day. I know she is looking into buying a house and she likes on on Coffin Ave in Haverhill, 28 Coffin Ave which is right on the river. But I think there might be some problems with flooding in that area and cost a lot for flood insurance, may be even $3000 a year. The price came down $50,000 since Augst and now it is about $250,000 which is pretty cheap for waterfront, colonial, fairly new construction. So we'll see if she ends up getting it.
Today was a crazy day since I was going to take you grocery shopping with me for the first time and when I went to find my keys, no luck, probably 45 minutes looking while you guys "helped" while Dylan asked "Why?" It was the first time I really felt the challenge of caring for both of you amidst chaos of four dogs, Cuddles was on the side porch shredding a roll of paper towels, Daisy brought in a crappy plastic spoon with shit and birdseed all over it on the front porch, toys everywhere, Daisy dragging boots across the living room, chewing hair off of puppets. It was a little crazy. I found the keys in a pile of leashes and we were off. Your mom called while we were in the grocery store and I told her all about our morning including how I was ready to shoot myself which I should not have said in front of you boys. So after I got off the phone, Dylan asked me "Why you going to shoot yourself?' I never even realized I had said that on the phone and explained after I almost wet myself laughing that I was going to "shoo" myself, send myself to time out! (Good save, huh?) Well, then the two of you started singing religious songs from your school with the words "Amen!" and "Aleluya!" Noah wanted to carry the corn bread muffins the whole time. You also both helped pick out fruits and vegetables and count them. When we got to the car, I loaded it up, then could not shut the trunk since it got jammed somehow! One of those days!
