August 28, 2011 Birthday #4 and Hurricane Irene

Dear Noah and Dylan,
    Yesterday, we celebrated your fourth birthday!  It was a gala affair at 40 Leonard Street, Bradford.  Your mom and Daddy combine efforts to put it together and invited both sides of the family.  Uncle Joe took about 300 pictures of you all together with your little friends having cake around a kiddie table, playing in the bouncy house, holding the toads and reptiles from the petting zoo and snakes!  They had a 16' Burmese Python, a baby alligator, some bearded dragons, lizards from Australia, giant today from South America, three different colored corn snakes.  One snake wrapped itself around Granpy K's nose! It was very humid with Hurricane Irene on its way up the coast.  Today we are hunkered down at 44 Hale St with no power since 11:15AM.  Uncle Joe and your daddy are having lunch with you and then it will be nap time.  I might be taking a nap, too!  Earlier we watched some classic music videos on Youtube Like Michael Jackson's Thriller, Rick James and James Brown, "I Feel Good."  I got you both hooked on Christopher Walkens.
    Anyway, you had lots of people at your party and got lots of presents.  Uncle Joe and I got you money for your college fund, nature classes at the Audubon Society (Joppa Flats) and a couple of little things.  A volkswagon with planets on it and crazy glasses for Dylan, a school bus and a little mouse for Noah.  You got umbrellas from Grandma and Granpy K, lots of matchbox cars, a big fuel truck and cement truck, a tambourine,and chopsticks from Auntie Susan, Star Wars helmets from your other Auntie Kim, and I don't know what else since you opened up your presents after everyone left.  Those are just the ones you packed up to come over here for the storm.
    I met your mom's new boyfriend, Adam who is very nice.  He's very young though, 23 so a few people cracking jokes about that (including me, of course.)Your other Auntie Kim is not happy about it at all and would not even talk to him.  Your mom didn't appreciate that since she didn't try to talk to your mom either.  Theres' always tension between members of the family, especially that side! Kyle and John didn't come because they didn't have a ride and your grandmother wouldn't bring them.  Your mom did not invite your grandmother since she has not made any effort to see you kids since you were born.  I'll never forget that crazy day I was with you guys at Friendly and she was a nth next table!  She would not even look at us but your Grandfather talked to us quite a bit.  And she was mad at hi afterwards!  She is crazy.
