All Hands on Deck

Dearest nephews,

You each now weigh about 12 and 13 lbs. (Dylan is the heavier one) The last two weeks I went over both Wednesday and Saturday. One Wednesday your mom had to take Dylan to the cardiologist so I went over after work and stayed with Noah. You were very good! I got you to fall asleep while I watched Law and Order. Dylan had a clean bill of health and doesn't have to go back for 3 years. Last Saturday, Uncle Joe and I spent the afternoon there. Your dad took Nick to basketball while we manned the fort. We had a great day watching a movie later with your dad. An easy day! You each had some time on your jungle gym mat, thrashing around on your back, lifting up your legs. You'relooking like you two turtles on your back trying to flip over onto your fronts! I had a dream the other night that Noah stood up and started running around, bypassing the whole crawling stage! Your mother stood by and was not all that surprised.
Uncle Joe and I went over Weds night this past week because I couldn't wait until Saturday to see you. We brought Chinese over and had a nice time visitng both your mom and your dad and Nick. Uncle Joe and Nick got to play with the Wii. (computer sports game-interactive-You play tennis and baseball with remotes while standing in place) In ten years, I'm sure you'll have virtual reality tennis and baseball.
This Saturday, I went over by myself and your dad and i took you for a walk in your stroller. It was pretty mild out, close to 50. Dylan started crying while Dad tried to strap him in and that was a long five minute nerve-wracking ordeal. Your dad puts things together the way I open packages0 just willy nilly and as fast as you can without any reason or logic. But finally, we got the stroller in motion and Dylan quieted immediately. We had Freddie with us and walked about 20-25 minutes until Noah started screaming in hunger. When we got back to the house, Grandpa K. and Chris showed up bearing souvenirs from Disney World. You each got a bib (no M. Mouse ears- thank God!) Grandpa K. proceeded to take apart the kitchen faucet and completely immerse himself in that project becoming totally oblivious to his surroundings as usual. Your dad had to call the plumber since they could not find the main water valve. While he was on the phone, Grandpa K told him he wanted to talk to him. Your dad obediently handed the phone over to him (Father knows best0 remember that! Ha! Ha!)
It's tough going for your mom and dad right now. It's not easy taking care of two infants at once, especially ween you are sleep deprived. On top of that, your mothers' mom has still been on the lam since Labor Day, although there was a sighting on Nick's birthday in November. Your dad calls it "War of the Roses" sometimes.
I talked to Uncle Don and he said he felt hurt that he keeps calling and Dad (your dad) doesn't call him back. I told him to just go over like we do. (and bring food!) And here is your mom thinking she doesn't want to pick him as a godfatehr because he doesn't go over- I didn't' tell him that, but boy I hope he steps up to the plate and helps out once in awhile by visiting more often. The more bodies, the better to take turns holding you both. He's not home most of the time because he's either flying or at Kim's in Chicago.
