Last day of my
April vacation! It’s 82 degrees! Uncle
Joe visited you yesterday and had fun watching you guys in the bouncy
house. I went kayaking with a friend
instead since I saw you guys Tuesday and spent the night, too. Noah got to hear me snore! Lucky him!
Uncle Joe said Dylan learned the word “please” (pease!) and kept saying it
every time he wanted a bite of ice-cream sandwich. When I was there Tuesday he kept saying
“Mamore!” (want more) Noah is still limited to “ball” and “bye-bye.”
I videotaped the
two of you mesmerized by the singing, moving bear “Don’t Worry, Be Happy.” Dylan finally got bored and started connecting
his plastic blocks He sits with his legs
splayed out behind him like a Cocker Spaniel!
I ran both of you up and down the corridor doing about 25 laps to make
sure you worked up an appetite for dinner and you did, you chowed down on your
mom’s Shepherd’s Pie. She was at Bush Gardens
in Florida with Nick for 3 nights. I had
to babysit while your dad went to a board meeting. I changed each of your diapers twice and Noah’s
was NASTY. Completely soaked with light
brown diarrhea soup. YUCK. Your grandfather came home around 7:00 after
I had you both in your PJs. And you guys
convinced him to put you in the cribs just so you could jump on the
mattresses! You were both having a hell
of a time! You were easy to put to
sleep, too. I put Dylan in with is Elmo blanket and he konked out shortly. Then I brought Noah in and cuddled him up with
a blanket on my lap while I sat in the rocking chair in the dark to the sound
of the crickets on the music thing. (Nature
sounds) and he put his head on my chest and was out in a couple of
minutes. He woke up a couple hours later
when Dad came home so he had to be cuddled again, despite my snores on the
couch!
In the morning we
had a nice long walk together. Dylan
rode in the stroller while Noah walked all the way past the industrial park! We tried to swap on the way back but Dylan
was less energetic and kept trying to sit down on the street. Hmm…which one is more like his grandmother?
Also, I was
amazed watching Noah try to shoot hoops.
He hands me the plastic net, then positions himself like he’s on the
foul line and throws it. Very smooth controlled
moves! I think it’s remarkable for a
nineteen month old!
