Growing Vocabulary

Monday afternoon, August 3, 2009

Dear Kids,

I’m writing down by Lake Gardner at Battis Farm.  I just went swimming with Ruby, Jack and Cuddles and now we are trying to warm up in the sun.  Yesterday, Uncle Joe, your dad and I took you boys to a park in Atkinson, NH on Pope Lane.  After finally finding it, we had a great time!  You each are able to climb the stairs to all the different levels and both like to go down the tunnel slide and bounce on the wiggly bridge.  The only difference is, Noah exercises extreme caution and backs up before going down the slide and crawls back slowly to the beginning of it, examining all the edges and openings, at least the first time, a little less the following time.  He showed no fear of heights last time at Inn Street when I took him up the stairs to the upper walkway.  He walked right over to the edge looking through the railings down below to the stores. Neither one of you are speaking in complete sentences but your vocabulary is growing.  Noah can also nod yes and no.  Some words I heard yesterday were “jeep” and numbers repeated while watching some educational DVD in the van.  Ball, dog, daddy, please, tree, want more, apple are some of the most common ones I get to hear anyway.  Tomorrow I’m going to the beach with you and your mom so I’m sure she’ll fill me in on the rest of your increasing skills other than what I see and hear for myself!
