Almost One Year Old

A few minutes to write to you tow little peanuts before I watch a new episode of Law and Order! You are almost one year old! We got announcements that your first birthday party will be Labor Day weekend. I bought you each a 3 pack of cute socks for ages 12-24 mos. (seems like yesterday it was just 0-3) and I might splurge and buy the singing bear at the Anna Jacques gift shop for $42.00 that sings "Don's Worry, Be Happy!" but your main gift, which will be annual (and very boring) will be an automatic deduction from my bank account into each of your college funds. Your dad doesn't know I got it yet and I know he will be thrilled since he already opened up college accounts, too. Your mom will be happy but she's more of a live in the moment type of gal as I'm sure you know by now. I'm really enjoying getting to know your mom better now. We are both essentially motherless AND we have you two in common! She knows Uncle Joe and I are crazy about you since we are there almost every week (a little erratic this summer with our travel plans but it's usually on Saturdays when she's working.) She invited me last week to go with you both to Rochester to visit Grandpa K and Grammy Chris. We had a great ride up on Rt. 125 (right past New Boston Rd. where I was earlier in the morning kayaking with one of my friends and we had a great visit..double batches of chocolate chip cookies-ask your mom to explain that one! She brought cookies and Grandpa K had planned to bake cookies, not knowing she was coming with a batch. That didn't deter him though- he was determined! Then Grammy Chris made delicious shepherds' pie with creamed corn-
The ride back was a little more challenging-Noah, my dear Noah- you screamed for 35 minutes. At 8:02 PM I told you mom $1 says he'll be asleep at 8:30.....It was rather torturous I might add- and frustrating since there was not much either of us could do-you had to be secured in your car seats. Your mother had to drive and all I could do was turn around and take pictures on my cellphone to send to Uncle Joe. (I did try to give you a bottle but you just pushed it away)
Besides Weds last week, I went twice recently without Uncle Joe and he went over without me and I got to bring you guys into the pool. One time, when Uncle Joe was there, your dad was in the water with Dylan and I had Noah. He was getting cold so Uncle Joe put him in the mini frog pool on the deck. I got out of the water and watched you in the pool w/ Uncle Joe- we both turned away for 2 sec and you fell over and got a mouthful of water and started crying-just goes to show you how you can drown in two inches of water. That was a little scary.
This week, I was there by myself since Uncle Joe drove up to Lake Winnipesaukee to check out Uncle Don and Kim's rental. I went to Taco Bell and you guys were upset I left- Noah followed me to the gate and stood up, watching me leave, crying. Talk about a guilt trip! It was worse than going to work and having to leave my dogs!
Love you both-can't wait to ride up to Lake Winnie with you guys!
love always,
Auntie Kim
PS your mom thinks Noah looks like Grandma K!
