Dear Dillon and Noah,
Can you believe it? You are here!!! Your dad called me about 10 minutes ago and told me you arrived! We were sweating it big time though because apparently, one of you decided you wanted OUT and your mom had to be rushed to New England Medial Center causing a firestorm of emotions across the eastern seaboard..Dad got the call and he had to leave work and got stuck in traffic-I called him back and he yelled at me! He picked up the phone and screamed, "What's going on?!!?" So he said he'd call me back and about an hour later I heard from him. He said they were going to induce you mom, because she was dilated slightly and not feeling too chipper. She threw up and who knows what else. I'm sure they'll both have their stories to tell.
Your grandma called me at one point too and the phone calls were going back and forth between your Nana, Grandma K, Uncle Don, Ken and me. Your Aunt Kim L is apparently in the hospital because she happened to be in Boston at another hospital when she got the call. Her boyfriend was in the fire in Boston today where two firefighters lost their lives and a couple others were still in intensive care. So she went over to see you guys. Your dad sad he saw you come out (after the C section) and you were a couple of cuties!! He was very excited and very emotional. He didn't know how much you weigh yet, but one of was smaller than the other. I hope you will both be OK and not need to stay in the hospital too long. You are both premies and headed to the neo-natal clinic (says Grandma K) she filled me in on info that Daddy left out. She is VERY excited as well and plans on moving in with you guys to help out. That will be a big help especially if one of you can come home first and the other one is not quite ready.
Your Grandpa K still doesn't know yet! He's at his new job, cleaning a bank. Good thing he doesn't know yet or he'll probably set off the alarm and make the police show up for the 3rd time! Uncle Joe and I are going to go see you tomorrow morning. Heidi might come too-that's Uncle Joe's stepmother. She is staying with us for a couple of days. She and I were walking at Maudslay with Ruby and Jack when we got the first call from your dad. When we got the call you were born we were watching Zorro with Anthony Hopkins and Antonio Banderas. We are at the scene where Antonio Banderas (soon to become Zorro) is depressed and drunk about the loss of his brother. I don't know if they were twins but they were very close. it is my hope that the two of you will be that way and stick with each other throughout life's struggles, even when the going gets rough between you. One of the biggest tragedies in our family history is your Grandma K (Grandma Maweesey as we called her when she was alive) and your great aunt Edith having a falling out and never resolving their differences and voila...5 years go by like nothing and one leaves the planet leaving the other with this horrible unresolved conflict, and grief. Love each other, take care of each other and cut each other some slack. Neither of you will be perfect so just admit when you are wrong and apoligize often!!!
More advice when I meet you tomorrow! Ha ha!
Love, Auntie Kim
